MAAFL has rescheduled the next four weeks to provide job readiness skills to youths, ages 12 - 19. The first will be Thursday, May 19th at the City of Phoenix Housing (see flyer above). The others TBA!

  Daily: MAAFL offers one-on-one mentoring which includes many services: DES Application for Food Stamps and AHCCCS Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, Employment Readiness, College Readiness, and Self-Esteem Building Counseling (Workshops provided in the community).

Saturday, March 27, 2016...MAAFL celebrated its 1st Annual Easter Drive, giving away more than 100 Easter Baskets to the children at Vista Colina Family Shelter for the Homeless.

Saturday, December 19, 2015...
MAAFL celebrated its Annual Holiday Party at the Marcos De Niza Community Center in South Phoenix, AZ where 126 inner city children received toys from their personal Wish list.

Saturday, August 1, 2015, MAAFL held its 1st Annual Backpack Event at the Marcos De Niza Community Center where 175 inner city children received back-to-school backpacks with school supplies.

Wednesday, March 18, 2015, MAAFL launched its 1st Annual "2-B-1" Project at the Fresh Start Women's Resource Center where individuals kicked off their leadership skills by participating in a Self-Esteem Workshop.

Saturday, August 30, 2014...Chico's Outlet at the Tanger Mall and Chico's Outlet at the Arizona Mills partnered with MAAFL in a fundraiser where MAAFL received 10% of all sales from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. - The event netted MAAFL nearly $500.00.

Thursday, July 3, 2014...Chico's Outlet, at the Tanger Mall Location in Glendale AZ and the Chico's Outlet at the Arizona Mills Location partnered with MAAFL from 10 am - 9 pm; MAAFL received 10% of all sales - The event netted MAAFL $203.00.

April 19, 2014...Chico's Outlet, at the Tanger Mall Location in Glendale AZ, partnered with MAAFL on Saturday, April 19th, from 10 am - 5 pm; MAAFL received 10% of all sells on that day. The public was invited to attend this fundraiser to support MAAFL and its CAUSE to the community. MAAFL netted a check in the amount of $218.00 for this event.

December 21, 2013...Chico's Outlet, at the Arizona Mills Location, partnered for a second fundraiser with MAAFL on Saturday, December 21st, from 10 am - 5 pm; MAAFL received 10% of all sells on that day. The public was invited to attend this fundraiser to support MAAFL and its CAUSE to the community. MAAFL received a check for more than $1,000.00 for the combined events from 10/26 and 12/21.

October 26, 2013...Chico's Outlet, at the Arizona Mills Location, partnered with MAAFL in a fundraiser on Saturday, October 26th, from 10 am - 5 pm; MAAFL will receive 10% of all sells on that day. The public was invited to attend this fundraiser to support MAAFL and its CAUSE to the community.

October, 2013 - October 2014...MAAFL conducted A Career Development Leadership Program workshop at the Marcos De Niza Community Center in Phoenix, AZ for South Phoenix Youth (age 12 - 21).

September 16, 2013 - September 2014...MAAFL conducted The Career Development Leadership Program workshop at the UMOM New Day Centers (homeless shelter for families), in Phoenix, Arizona.

June 8, 2013...MAAFL conducted a workshop at the UMOM New Day Center at 3333 E. Van Buren in Phoenix AZ; The workshop will be titled "Cultivating the Leader within;" men, women and children are expected to attend.

May 4, 2013...MAAFL conducted a workshop at the 33rd Annual Black Youth Conference; The workshop was titled "Cultivating the Leader within;" Approximately 500 teens were expected to attend.

April 27, 2013...MAAFL conducted a workshop at the United Way Firestar Teen Career Forum at the Hyatt Regency; The workshop will be titled "Cultivating the Leader within;" Approximately 2,000 teens were expected to attend.


October 23, 2012...MAAFL conducted a pre-job fair at the Emmett McLoughlin Community Training & Education Center.

May 5, 2012...MAAFL participated in the 32nd Annual Black Youth Recognition Conference at the ASU Memorial Union in Tempe, AZ.

August 13, 2011...MAAFL offered a Career Development Day for High School Seniors (upcoming event). 

June 4, 2011... 60 students graduated from the St. Mary's Food Bank Community Kitchen - these students also graduated from MAAFL's self-esteem workshops that were provided in the last 4 months.

May 10, 2011...MAAFL provided a self-esteem workshop to 30 adults at the St. Mary's Food Bank Community Kitchen. 

April 24, 2010...MAAFL provides Business & Dining Etiquette Workshop to 25 students. 


April 10, 2010...MAAFL conducted a Self-Esteem Workshop for Upward Bound Students at South Mountain Community College.
